To implement the educational development strategy for the new period and enhance training quality to international standards, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education respectfully announces to Parents, Students, and Partners the following pivotal changes effective from late 2025:
1. Official University Renaming
Pursuant to Decision No. 2809/QĐ-TTg dated December 26, 2025, by the Prime Minister, the University officially adopts its new name:
• Vietnamese Name: TRƯỜNG ĐẠI HỌC CÔNG NGHỆ KỸ THUẬT THÀNH PHỐ HỒ CHÍ MINH
• English Name: Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE)
The renaming marks a significant transformation for the University in positioning itself as a leading brand in technology and engineering. (Pursuant Decision No. 452/QD-TTg dated February 27, 2025, issued by the Prime Minister approving the Master Plan for the network of higher education and pedagogical institutions for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision to 2050, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education is designated as one of the nation's five key institutions for engineering and technology).
2. Establishment of two new Units from the Faculty of International Education
Pursuant to Decision No. 4364/QĐ-ĐHSPKT dated November 18, 2025, the University has approved the project to reorganize the Faculty of International Education into two independent units with specialized functions and duties:
FACULTY OF ADVANCED EDUCATION (FAE)
- Function: A specialized unit responsible for organizing, managing, and operating undergraduate training programs taught entirely in English and other languages.

3. Contact instructions during the transition period
To ensure convenience for Parents, Students, and Partners during the transition, both units will operate under the following mechanism from now until the end of June 2026:
Office Location: Room F1-707, Building F1, HCMC University of Technology & Engineering (No. 01 Vo Van Ngan, Linh Chieu Ward, Thu Duc City, HCMC).
Information Channels: Both units will continue to use the current shared website to update information in parallel with the new websites mentioned above.
